Jim Jones is the owner of WAMM Radio and 790 AM since 2008. He launched 97.9 FM in 2020. Jim is the driving force behind the music and presentation of WAMM. He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland and an MBA from George Washington University. Jim also owns and operates Radio Sound Solutions, the affiliate coordinator of radio content for providers such as the Red Apple Audio Networks/WABC Radio New York, Suite Radio and Focus 360.
Brent Woodall is WAMM’s resident Sales Director, Drummer and Vocalist. His band Cherry Smash was the house band at the Bayou in Georgetown for years. Brent has performed at legendary venues from the Ryman to Farm Aid. In 1970 Brent was produced by Charlie Daniels at RCA Studios in Nashville. In the mid-90’s Brent co-founded River’s Edge in Winchester, recording music still heard on WAMM. Brent was inducted into the Maryland Entertainer’s Hall of Fame with Cherry Smash in 2019.
Dan Gallo is the host of the Gallo Go-Round, Monday through Saturday mornings from 5-10 on WAMM. Dan has gotten close to a lot of country’s biggest stars over the years and collected a massive number of the stories they've shared with him. Dan is military veteran and father of four. Off-air, Dan enjoys restoring vintage vehicles. The current source of the grease under his fingernails is a 1954 Pontiac Star Chief Custom Catalina.
Rowdy Yates is a second-generation radio guy, whose father Joe Holstead was known as ‘The Dean of Texas Radio News’ and was the frequent fill-in for radio great Paul Harvey. Rowdy Yates is a 2025 inductee into the Country Radio Hall of Fame. Take the Rowdy Ride Home on WAMM every day, Monday through Saturday, from 2p to 7p.
Jay Preston started his radio career while still in high school & has over 50 years broadcast experience including a stint at WANV in Waynesboro in the 1970s. Preston has voiced TV & radio commercials, books on tape as well as industrial presentations. Jay's program, Americana Country, airs every Sunday afternoon from 2-5 on WAMM.
